Five Stones

Phase Two Completed

I just completed phase two tonight in my dominate golf strategy. Purchased a golf bag, putter and a 56 degree wedge. The arsenal is not complete but it is coming close. Planning on going out to a Par 3 course tomorrow if it doesn’t rain, to try out some of my new tools.

Fee Update

Last night our student ministry hosted a night of worship led by Steve Fee. We invited a few smaller smaller churches in our area and had an incredible night. It looks like we may have broken the 500 mark for the first time in the Carmel Student Ministry. The best part of the night for me was watching my little girl get excited about worship. I wonder if my students have any idea how blessed they are to be able to have someone with the talent and heart for worship like Steve Fee to come to our Wed. night service? What a great night.

Heroes Prediction

My prediction of who the nightmare man is on the show “Heroes” is either Angela Petrelli or the High School boy who Claire is dating. I think his name is West. My money is on Angela. Hopefully tonight we will find out.

And So It Begins…

A new day has come…I have just become the next weekend golf warrior. After an 11 year layoff I have decided it is time for me to reclaim my spot at the top of the golf world. In fact I have just launched phase one of a five phase process.

  • Phase 1 Completed: Purchased a set of TaylorMade rac os 2 Men’s Iron Set-Steel Shafts
  • Phase 2: In the next two weeks purchase a golf bag and putter
  • Phase 3: Use Christmas money to buy a most excellent driver
  • Phase 4: Take some lessons to ignite the raw talent that is lying just below the surface
  • Phase 5: Emerge as the best golfer on staff by the end of Summer o8

While some my scoff at the idea that I will ever have time to play with two children the ages of 8 and 5 and one on the way in Novemeber , let me respond to your weak faith in all things man. Every man needs at least one hobby to relieve the stress and toll of work and raising the family, so I will take time throughout the month to rest and relax and to dominate. I will keep you posted on my progress.

Missing In Action

Okay so I have been missing in action the past few weeks with my blog site. Let me bring you up to speed on what has been on my mind or just going on.

  • Shelly’s set to deliver our third child on Nov. 20th.
  • I am coming out of my funk of being people fatigued.
  • Small Groups for our HS students was a huge success. I should have done this a long time ago.
  • I’m experiencing preaching with-drawls.
  • God is blowing me away lately in my quiet times on His name the “I Am.”
  • Loving these two new CD’s John Waller “The Blessing” and David Crowder’s CD Remedy.
  • My favorite new song is John Waller’s song about the Prodigal. That song has made me cry twice.
  • Played golf for the first time in 11 years. Actually I didn’t do as bad as I thought. I think I also got the golf bug because all I can think about is getting a new set of clubs.
  • Shelly and I have narrowed the list down to three names for our little girl. Claire, Jossie, or my favorite Eliza (call her Lizzie.) Feel free to place your vote.
  • Steve Fee will be here in two weeks to lead our student worship  service.
  • Chris Seay on ” The Eight Dollar Hotdog “  was one of the most convicting pieces I’ve seen all year.
  • Trying to wrestle with what Andy Stanley said at the Catalyst Conference when he said the following: What do you do, when it dawns on you that you’re the most powerful person in the room? Your answer to that question will determine the character and the legacy of your leadership. Maybe that is the reason I have been people fatigued. need some more time to work this one thru.
  • I am so thankful for the friends that God has brought around me and my family. I am blessed to be doing life with these people.
